* Lara Mbella, born Lara Makollè Mbella Teković, was born on April 29, 1997, in Trieste, Italy. She has roots in both Cameroon and Croatia, which have greatly influenced her as a performer. Born as a recorder player at the age of eleven, she graduated in different prestigious Conservatories like in Trieste, Venice and Amsterdam. Lara’s artistic focus lies in promoting the recorder, showcasing its versatility through classical concerts and original shows that she herself conceptualizes and directs, often integrating other art forms such as musical theater and multimedia arts. Additionally, she conducts research, delving into transcriptions and arrangements of Balkan repertoire, Jazz-Baroque, and 80s Italian Funky music, with the aim of integrating different musics styles into the recorder’s repertoire.
